You should also ask them if they are affiliated with any other companies or professional organizations. Find out where the associations centers are. Many people prefer those with centers in their cities because it is more convenient. Ask if you can have some references so that you can determine how pleased others have been with their memberships. The association you choose might be determined by the types of resources and services that you expect to use. If you need interim management services, then be sure that they offer them. You should also be certain that the board members have the board training that is required to make decisions for the organization. This will help ensure that the organization is legitimate. Pay close attention to the level of courtesy used when answering your services. You should consider member services to be just as important as customer service. Those that aren't courtesy probably will need treat you with respect.
